Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but these are…the BEST salted chocolate chip cookies! I love using chocolate chips or chocolate chunks for these. You can also sub the chocolate chips for white chips! These can be made in a bowl, but you can also use your stand mixer to do all the work. Trust me, you’ll impress with these cookies!

Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 pound (2 sticks) of unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cane sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1/4 cup flaked sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Melt 2 sticks of butter in a small sauce pan on low heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix the sugars together. Once the butter is slightly cooled, add to the sugar mixture and stir vigorously for one minute.
  • Whisk the egg and vanilla together and add to the sugar mixture. Stir for one minute until the mixture combines.
  • Mix in flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda until just combined. Using a spatula, fold in chocolate chips.
  • Using a small squeeze handle scoop, scoop out 24 evenly sized balls onto parchment lined baking sheets about 2-3 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown edges form. Halfway through baking, sprinkle each cookie with flaked sea salt. Let cookies cool completely and serve.

You can also use a stand mixer to mix ingredients*
